Jay Millen to lead firm’s CEO & Board Practice
Toronto– November 3, 2015 – Retained executive search firm The Caldwell Partners International Inc. (TSX: CWL) today announced that Jay Millen has joined the firm as a managing partner, leader of the firm’s CEO & Board Practice and member of the Industrial Practice.
“Jay Millen is a fantastic addition to our firm,” said Dave Winston, managing partner of the firm’s Industrial Practice. “The breadth and depth of his experience recruiting senior executives at the board and CEO level complements our existing partner team very well. In addition, his significant manufacturing and natural resources expertise will add important strength to our existing capabilities in those areas.”
“I am delighted to be joining the Caldwell Partners team,” said Jay Millen. “I have been impressed by the client commitment and professionalism I have seen across the board, and the firm’s values are in total alignment with my own. Additionally, I am eager to be joining an executive search team with a base of operations in the Carolinas that covers the technology, financial services and industrial sectors on a broad basis. It’s a powerful advantage for my clients.”
Mr. Millen joined Caldwell Partners from DHR International, where he was a vice chairman and head of the Board and CEO practice group. Previously, he was a senior client partner at Korn/Ferry International. During his tenure there, he also served as the global sector leader of basic materials and as managing director of strategic client partnerships in the Americas.
Prior to joining the executive search industry, Mr. Millen led Accenture’s London-based natural resource practice, where he focused on global mergers and acquisitions for some of the leading agribusiness, forest products, metals, mining, building materials and infrastructure businesses across the globe. Additionally, his practice group conducted significant client support in the areas of leadership assessment and development, market segmentation, supply chain optimization, and innovation/new product development.
In his tenures with Tenneco, International Paper and a major private equity venture, Mr. Millen’s experience included engineering, operations and leadership roles in a diverse set of forest products and engineered materials companies, culminating in his role as the senior operations executive in an engineered materials and building/consumer products business.
“Jay brings a client-focused perspective to his practice, gained from his years as a successful industry executive and well-respected executive recruiter,” said John N. Wallace, chief executive officer. “His track record of high caliber search work at the board and CEO level is impeccable, while his personal and integral approach has earned him respect from clients, candidates and colleagues alike. The impact of his addition to the firm will be immediate from both an internal and external standpoint, and we are truly pleased to have him on the Caldwell Partners team.”
Mr. Millen began his career as an infantry and special operations officer in the US Army after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He also earned an MBA in corporate finance from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
