Jack Sayed is a strategic advisor in Caldwell’s Industrial Practice, focused on the mobility and automotive space. He is a seasoned automotive industry executive with over 20 years of deep experience spanning OEM (Nissan/Ford) and Tier 1(Denso, Nidec, Bourns) operations, global supply chain management, and advance mobility innovation. A respected leader known for driving transformative growth, Jack has held senior roles across the automotive value chain – from a manufacturing and engineering to strategic partnerships and mobility solutions. He has more than 10 years of successful experience in turnarounds with mid-sized automotive industry companies in with revenue between $150-300 million.
Experience
Jack most recently led Bourns Inc’s automotive division, overseeing more than 3,000 employees across Europe, Asia, and North America, with four manufacturing plants and three technical centers in the US, Mexico, Germany, Hungary, and China. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Nidec Automotive North America and was the first non-Japanese corporate officer and executive management committee member. Earlier, Jack was appointed director at Nissan Motor in Tokyo, Japan, where he led the launch of the Nissan LEAF all-electric vehicle. Before joining Nissan, he spent five years with Ford Motor Company in the product development function across Asia Pacific. Jack began his career at Denso Corporation in Japan, where he was one of the few non-Japanese employees to gain firsthand experience with the world-renowned Toyota Production System.
Education
Jack holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in electronic and communications from Pakistan, and he studied at the University of Michigan’s Executive MBA program. He has completed several executive education programs at MIT, Columbia University, and Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania.
