Elizabeth “Liz” Bernich is a partner on Caldwell’s executive search team, offering over 15 years of search experience alongside more than 10 years of professional services industry operating experience.
Based in New York, Liz serves as a strategic advisor to clients across North America and Europe. She specializes in solving the best-in-class leadership needs of C-suite and senior leadership across finance, human resources, investments, communications, external/government relations, and business development/fundraising. Liz’s trusted reputation has been built on integrity, accountability, and transparency. She is skilled in handling critical, oftentimes confidential, mandates that result in exceptional outcomes for her clients.
Liz thrives at the intersection of impact and opportunity. Her industry expertise includes global non-profit, public health, and higher education. She has also worked closely with clients in many other sectors, including alternative investment management, professional services, travel, and technology. She is a versatile and adept advisor who offers an extensive network.
Experience
Having previously served as the Chief Operating/Financial Officer of Cromwell Partners, which was acquired by Caldwell in 2009, Liz brings a functional, hands-on skillset that is invaluable to her clients. Liz began her career as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche, LLP (CPA-certified) after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting cum laude from Villanova University.

Liz is a passionate advocate for the environment, health and wellness, and economic opportunity. She co-founded and led a non-profit that supported first responders, healthcare professionals, and small business owners during the most vulnerable days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her groundbreaking efforts were recognized by the NYSE, the New York Life Foundation, and Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill. She is an active and dedicated community volunteer.
